Los Altos History Museum's Exhibition Tells the Story of Juana Briones
October 18, 2018 - March 31, 2019 |
Juana Briones was a 19th century woman who overcame personal, economic, and
political struggles to become a successful entrepreneur, healer, advocate, and
landowner, purchasing a ranch in what became parts of Palo Alto and Los Altos
Hills. Juana's life is receiving renewed attention for its inspirational message, sparking intergenerational conversations about California’s roots. The Los Altos History Museum will bring her story and the Mexican era to public awareness in its groundbreaking bi-lingual exhibition “Inspired by Juana: La Doña de la Frontera,” running October 18th, 2018, through March 31, 2019. The Museum is free to the public, and open Thursdays-Sundays, noon to 4:00pm.
