The 2019 Avery-Edwards / Edson Sisters Tea
July 13, 2019 |
Experience a traditional Victorian tea in the fine tradition of Sarah Avery and Phoebe Edson, the storied Edson Sisters. Through a long-awaited partnership, this year's tea celebrates the family in both the ladies' homes, nestled next door to each other in Old Town Fort Collins. Take a catered tea and hors d'oeuvres at the regal Edwards House, Phoebe's 1904 home and tour the lush grounds, gardens, and interior of the historic 1879 Avery House. Sip tea and indulge in sweet and savory bites and enjoy the Avery House’s new exhibit Mabel Avery: A Portrait in Garmenture.
The Avery-Edwards Edson Sisters Tea event is one of Poudre Landmarks Foundation's largest annual fundraisers. Please join us for a traditional Tea where tea sandwiches, tarts, scones and chocolate-dipped strawberries will be served, along with our own unique locally-blended tea, available for the first time, only at the Avery and Edwards Houses. Guests are welcome and encouraged to wear Victorian attire and hats if desired.
We will have a wonderful bouTEAque and points of interest on the Avery lawn, along with fundraising opportunities through the day to support our mission to preserve, restore, protect, and interpret the architectural and cultural heritage of the Fort Collins area.
Delicious tea and food are catered, and there are two seatings, at 10 am and 1 pm, with docent-guided tours throughout the day. For the first time, Poudre Landmarks Foundation is pleased to offer champagne and wine service at the event with drinks available for purchase from 12pm - 2pm.
Proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction go toward the nonprofit Poudre Landmarks Foundation's mission to preserve, restore, protect, and interpret the architectural and cultural heritage of the Fort Collins area.
