Boston and the Bauhaus
July 21, 2019 |
Join us for a day trip from Providence, RI to Boston, MA to celebrate the Bauhaus centennial and to appreciate how its people and ideas spread to New England. We will leave Providence on a charter bus at 9am on Sunday, July 21 and return late afternoon.
The first stop will be at the Harvard Art Museums to see, 'The Bauhaus and Harvard' exhibit featuring 200 works from the largest Bauhaus collection outside of Germany.
We will stop for lunch and then visit the Gropius House. Walter Gropius was the founder of the Bauhaus Art School and immigrated from Nazi Germany in 1937 when he was recruited to teach at Harvard's department of architecture.
The cost per person is $115 per person for PPS members and $125 for non-members, and includes admission to the Harvard Art Museums and the Gropius House as well as transportation by charter bus.
