Decoding Preservation: A 360-Degree Look at Historic Preservation Ordinances, Policy, and Practice

This workshop seeks to decode cultural heritage ordinances, exploring best practices as well as innovative approaches and trends in preservation policy. Recent legislation, including state-level laws on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), will be considered from the perspective of preservation. City staff, commissioners, planners, and decision-makers will walk away from this workshop with new tools for managing and updating their preservation ordinances and programs, while citizens and stakeholders will gain new tools in their advocacy efforts.
