Castle Hill National Historic Site of Canada celebrates its 40th anniversary! Located in 'Plaisance,' now known as Placentia, this National Historic Site commemorates the French presence in Newfoundland. Explore the fortifications that were at the heart of the French-English struggle for Newfoundland from 1692 to 1811. Learn about the lives of 17th century fishermen and soldiers in Plaisance.
