How to find and secure grants for your heritage project (National Trust for Canada)

February 10, 2021

In the heritage and cultural sectors, grants can be a critical source of funding, especially seed funds, to help you build and grow your project. But, how do you find the right fit? And, what are funders looking for during these uncertain times? In this webinar, Alison Faulknor and Emily Boulet help you navigate the world of grants, giving you helpful tips that take you from research to application.

Alison Faulknor, Director of New Initiatives
As Director of New Initiatives for the National Trust for Canada, Alison Faulknor is leading the organization through a transformation in how it approaches fund development. In everything from philanthropy programs, to social enterprise, corporate sponsorship and foundation and government grants, she is marshaling the resources of the organization for maximum impact. Alison draws on over 16 years of experience working in the non-profit and cultural sector, leading teams to find funding, forge new partnerships and build national programs that engage the public.

Emily Boulet, Development Manager
As the National Trust for Canada’s Development Manager, Emily manages donor relations for the National Trust and administers the National Trust Awards program, the Herb Stovel Scholarship, and the Launch Pad Coaching Grants program. Since joining the National Trust in 2011, she has helped connect community groups with programs and funding opportunities that meet their needs. She also leads in the development of strategies to engage and steward National Trust donors, and helps share great stories about people and places that bring heritage to life.
