Historic Marshall's 45th Annual Home Tour
September 6-7, 2008 |
Each year on the weekend after Labor Day Marshall invites thousands of visitors to walk its tree lined streets, shop its charming historic commercial district, sleep in its inns, dine in its restaurants and step back in time by visiting perfect examples of 19th century architecture and its six unique museums. Marshall is the largest National Historic Landmark District in the small urban category with over 850 structures. This small town of only 7200 people is a perfect example of small town American life. The tour includes 8 private homes, 1 historic business and a church located within the historic landmark district. The weekend is also filled with big band concerts, an antique show, arts and crafts faire, farmers market, trolley rides and a Civil War era ball. This year's tour will include a 16,000 square foot mansion valued at over $7 million!
