Celebrate 246 years of American Independence at the home of the man who wrote the declaration that shook the colonial world. Visit Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest on Monday, July 4 for a festive day of fun the entire family will enjoy. The day of merrymaking features a grand Early American-style fair with live musical entertainment, storytellers, old- fashioned children’s games, activities and a not-to-be-missed dramatic reading of the Declaration of Independence at 1:30 p.m. The celebration concludes on Saturday evening July 9 with an exhilarating concert of patriotic music by the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra on Mr. Jefferson’s south lawn. |
