Doors Open Milwaukee 2022

September 24-25, 2022

Historic Milwaukee’s annual Doors Open Milwaukee program will take place in-person this year! The event will showcase more than 100 locations including theaters, art galleries, museums, municipal buildings, gardens, and more throughout downtown and Milwaukee’s neighborhoods. New sites include Fiserv Forum, Komatsu, Milwaukee Athletic Club, as well as neighborhood sites including Valor Creative Collective, The George & Madcap Lounge, The Community Within the Corridor, and many more. Featured photo for this event is the Direct Supply Innovation & Technology Center at MSOE which will be open for tours.

A full list of locations will be available on September 1 at doorsopenmilwaukee.org.
In addition to in-person tours, the public can download the Historic Milwaukee app and take four new app-based tours featuring Clarke Square, Harbor District, Metcalfe Park, and an Indigenous Milwaukee tour beginning Sept 24.

This year Doors Open will also partner with two community events. On Saturday, September 24, Metcalfe Park will celebrate the renaming of 34th Street in honor of Olympic athlete and US Representative and scholar Ralph Metcalfe at 3401 W Center St from 10 am – 11 am. And on Sunday, September 24, Harbor Fest will celebrate Milwaukee’s harbor with a boat parade and tours from 11 am – 4 pm at 600 E Greenfield.

A special thank you the National Endowment of the Arts, for recognizing Doors Open with an Art Works Design grant. Doors Open is grateful for the generous support from the following sponsors: National Endowment for the Arts; Greater Milwaukee Foundation; Zilber Family Foundation; Johnson Controls Foundation; Fund for Lake Michigan; We Energies Foundation; Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren; Northwestern Mutual Foundation; Veolia; Downtown BID; The George; J.
