Early American Industries Association Annual Meeting

The annual meeting will be held in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. There will be tours and presentations at Jefferson's mountain top home Monticello and tours, demonstrations and presentations at the Virginia Frontier Culture Museum. Staff at both museums will make presentations on the tools, trades and crafts that were used in the periods interpreted at the historic sites. There will also be craft demonstrations by the Contemporary Longrifle Association over the two days that will be spent at the Frontier Culture Museum. Other presenters will talk about Shakers seeds, Native American life, Shenandoah Valley furniture, the development of the wooden canoe industry in America, and a presentation on Shenandoah freight wagons which helped to open the western frontier. There will be tool sales by vendors, displays of research by EAIA members and a tour of one of the oldest pipe organ manufacturers as well as other points of interest.
