The City of Hillsboro Oregon is seeking ideas to renovate or redevelop the vintage Town Theater, located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Hillsboro.  The City acquired this 1950s era movie theater in 1996 and it has been vacant ever since.  Now, as part of the City's efforts to revitalize its downtown area, the City has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI).  The City seeks developer teams who are interested in rehabilitating the building as a theater or other venue which will attract evening and weekend activity to downtown Hillsboro.  The City is also open to ideas entailing the removal of the existing building, if it proves unfeasible to rehabilitate the building, and replace it with a new structure which still achieves the goal of a more active downtown.
