The Los Angeles premier of David Vassar's Discover Hetch Hetchy with Harrison Ford followed by an expert panel discussion.

A look at the history of the Hetch Hetchy Valley and the controversy surrounding its proposed restoration as well as the Los Angeles premier of David Vassar’s award winning short Discover Hetch Hetchy with Harrison Ford. Sierra Club founder John Muir once proclaimed that the Hetch Hetchy Valley was, "one of nature's rarest and most precious mountain temples", but the valley now rests under an artificial lake created by the O'Shaughnessy dam. Efforts to remove the dam and restore the valley have been met with resistance over an estimated 9 billion dollar price tag and concerns for the 2.4 million San Francisco residents who get their water there. Join us for a screening of David Vassar's Discover Hetch Hetchy followed by an expert panel discussion and decide for yourself if Hetch Hetchy matters. Speakers will include:
- David Vassar-Oscar nominated film maker and director of Discover Hetch Hetchy
- Robert Righter-Historian and author of The Battle Over Hetch Hetchy America's Most Controversial Dam and the Birth of Modern Environmentalism
- Ron Good-25 year active Sierra Club member and founder/Executive Director of the Restore Hetch Hetchy Advisory Committee
Moderated by Jonathan Spaulding-Executive Director of the Museum of the American West, Autry National Center
