Women in Preservation and Design
March 11, 2024 |
Our first Rochester Brainery class of 2024 is open for registration! “Women in Preservation and Design” will take place on Monday, March 11th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Warner Castle (5 Castle Park in Rochester).
For Women’s History Month in March, celebrate some of the femme figures who have made their mark on our cities, neighborhoods, and small towns. From nationally known figures like Louise B. Bethune, who was American’s first professional female architect, to local icons like Helen Ellwanger, who founded one of the nation’s earliest preservation organizations, the Landmark Society of Western New York, this class will explore the preservationists, urbanists, architects, and other designers who have shaped the built environment.
