March 8, 2024
An Evening of Irish Songs and Tunes With Turas

Turas means "journey" in Gaelic and Linden Place will be taking a journey across the musical seas with this Rhode Island band of musicians.  Turas is a Rhode Island band that features both traditional Irish and Celtic music as well as modern compositions.

In celebration of Irish Heritage Month, Turas will perform in the Linden Place ballroom on Friday, March 8 at 7pm.

Turas is made up of five singers and many instruments. Bob Drouin plays banjo, bouzouki and fiddle, and is a vocalist. Josh Kane is a traditional Irish musician from Cranston, Rhode Island. Josh plays flute and whistle, and is a vocalist. Dean Robinson is a percussion performer from Bristol, Rhode Island. Dean plays bodhran, bones, percussion and whistle, and is a vocalist. Matt Cook began his musical career in the early 1980's at Old Sturbridge Village with the fife and drum corps. Matt plays flute, uilleann pipes and whistle and is a vocalist. Gary Palmer is a retired Coast Guard Captain with a love for Irish music. Gary plays guitar and is a vocalist.
