Talking About Preservation: On Site at the Barnes Museum

May 18, 2024 |
Join us ON SITE at the Barnes Museum in Southington on Saturday, May 18th from 11:00-1:00 for a tour of the 15-room historic house (1836) led by their curator, Christina Volpe. The Barnes Museum is renowned as a historic house museum and center for the study of 19th-century material culture and decorative arts. Boasting a display of over 500 pressed glass goblets in their conservatory, their mission is to preserve and promote the Bradley/Barnes Homestead, its unique collections and archives, and its gardens and grounds in ways that educate and engage current and future generations. Additionally, we’ll delve into recent successful programming efforts that have enhanced the museum’s visibility, offering attendees a glimpse into new strategies for public engagement.
