Join us at the newly rehabilitated Bradford Town Hall (Seven
to Save, 2014) for the unveiling of this year's list of vulnerable special
places. The list features buildings with lesser-known histories as well
as properties with severe weather issues and other emerging threats.
Learn more about Bradford's success with their Town Hall
project, and explore other local landmarks: Bradford Center Meetinghouse, South
Sutton Meetinghouse and South Village Schoolhouse, and Bradford Historical
Society Museum in optional, pre-announcement open house tours. A
reception will follow the announcement, and you'll have the opportunity to
mingle with representatives of this year's listees and past Seven to
Save property representatives.
3:00 - 4:30pm - Optional tours of three nearby projects:
Bradford Center Meetinghouse, South Sutton Meetinghouse, and Bradford
Historical Society Museum
5:00 - 7:00pm - Announcement at Bradford Town Hall with
reception to follow
This event is free to attend but please pre-register.
Each year, since 2006, we highlight irreplaceable landmarks
around the state that are under-used or threatened by neglect, insufficient
funds, or unsympathetic development. To date, over one hundred
significant places have been listed to Seven to Save, with more
than half saved. Owners and advocates for the former listees have used the
designation to help develop new solutions and secure new investments. Criteria
for selection include historical significance, the imminence of threat, and the
potential impact of listing a site.
