The Oneida Community Mansion House presents Monk Rowe leading the Five Families Ensemble as part of the 2025 Mansion House Music Series! The concert will take place in the iconic Big Hall at the Oneida Community Mansion House at 3pm on Sunday, March 23, 2025.
The Five Families Ensemble, directed by Monk Rowe, stretches the boundaries of the traditional chamber ensemble by combining sounds from each of the four instrument groups (brass, woodwinds, percussion and strings) with a fifth contribution from the human voice. Their repertoire is arranged specifically for the group and ranges from Beethoven to Brubeck to the Blues, as well as original compositions. The Five Families Ensemble appeals to audiences of all ages by combining stellar musicianship with an engaging and welcoming attitude.
Christine O’Neil, Executive Director explains, “the Mansion House is an acoustically perfect setting for performances. Everyone in Central New York should experience music in the historic Big Hall.”
“The Mansion House is a place where contemporary music and history come together in harmony” noted Thomas A. Guiler, Director of Museum Affairs. “We are honored to have local talent on the stage of the Big Hall. You do not want to miss this!”
