Preservation NC 2021 Virtual Conference

October 21-22, 2021
Preservation NC 2021 Virtual Conference
We'll be meeting virtually again this year for two days of engaging discussion looking at how the field of preservation can continue to adapt to our rapidly changing world. We hope you'll join us to learn how to make tax credits work for small projects; how digital tools are being used to document underrepresented stories and places; how we identify and preserve intangible heritage; and much more. We'll celebrate our 2021 Preservation North Carolina Awards winners Friday afternoon and close out the conference with fun virtual tours that will let you travel all over the state in a single afternoon.

Like last year, your registration will give you access to join all sessions live, or you can choose to watch them later, on your own schedule. There are so many exciting things happening in preservation and we're on the edge of an expanding field!

This year's Marion S. Covington KEYNOTE: Staff writer at The Atlantic and Author of How the Word Is Passed: A Reckoning With the History of Slavery Across America (a #1 New York Times Bestseller), Clint Smith, will discuss his exploration of historic sites in America and the hopeful role that truth in history can play in making sense of our nation’s development. Following a conversation with Clint Smith, listen to a panel discuss the challenges associated with preserving, interpreting and defending historic landmarks around the state. The first 100 conference registrants will receive a FREE copy of his book!

Check out our conference website for the full conference schedule and to register today!
