Held March 29–April 2, 2023, in Portland, Oregon, at the Oregon Convention Center, the SAA 88th Annual Meeting is PreservationDirectory’s opportunity to meet face-to-face with more than 3,000 archaeologists. There are three ways to get involved at this year’s meeting: sponsor, exhibit, and/or advertise.

As a sponsor you have maximum visibility leading up to, during, and after the annual meeting. From advertising to honored mentions in our meeting publications and on our website, sponsors get the spotlight for playing such a critical role in our event.

As an exhibitor you’ll find that we have made some improvements to the exhibit hall to increase traffic in the hall itself. On Thursday, March 30, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., we will be hosting two new events in the exhibit hall. 

First, the exhibit hall will host Posters After Hours. This is the largest poster session of the meeting, featuring 100 posters in a relaxed atmosphere with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Exhibitors can co-sponsor Posters After Hours by purchasing drink tickets and distributing them at their booth. The SAA will advertise exhibitors with drink tickets in advance of the meeting in the annual meeting Final Program and through social media, encouraging attendees to visit your location before or during Posters After Hours.

Second, we will have an Interest Group Fair. Representatives from SAA Interest Groups will staff tables in the exhibit hall, sharing information about SAA Interest Groups with attendees. 

We will continue to display the State Archaeology Celebration Posters in the exhibit hall, and the Silent Auction to benefit the Native American Scholarships and the CRM Expo will also be held in the exhibit hall as in years past. 

We expect about 2,300 presenters and more than 700 additional registrants. I invite you to review the Exhibitor Prospectus and join us at the largest North American gathering of archaeologists.  

As a sponsor or exhibitor, PreservationDirectory will be listed in the Final Program, emails to registrants, the Annual Meeting App, and the preliminary Event Guide if you sign up before November 15, 2022. There is also an opportunity to make the most of your advertising budget by adding advertising to your package.
