Historic Garden Walk

June 25, 2023 |
On
Sunday, June 25th, the Wilmette Historical Society will host its
2023 Historic Garden Walk. The Society’s first Garden Walk was held during the
summer of 2021, and its popularity has led to its return this year with new
gardens that are sure to fascinate and inspire people of all ages.
Join
us in exploring four Wilmette gardens, including the highly-acclaimed gardens
of the Bahá’í Temple that have attracted visitors from all over the world since
the building and gardens opened in 1953. General Garden Walk highlights include
espaliered apple trees, a small greenhouse, examples of creative screening
methods, interesting mixtures of both native and non-native plants, water
features, and more! This is a great event for gardeners, history buffs, and for
those who are just curious and would enjoy an afternoon stroll and a fun
outing.
Ticket
proceeds benefit the operating budget and special projects of the Wilmette
Historical Museum. Beginning May 1, advance discounted tickets go on sale and
are $40 for members, $50 for non-members, and $25 for high school and college
students. Prices increase by $10 beginning Monday, June 19. Tickets can be
purchased on our website, by calling the Museum, or by stopping by. Please
check our website for a list of sponsors and for the most up-to-date
information, or call us.
