Street Trees of Seattle Walking Tour With Taha Ebrahimi
October 5, 2024 |
Join us for a weekend exploration of some of Seattle's oldest wood structures around: our historic trees!
Seattle neighborhood Capitol Hill was clear-cut in the 1880s and given its current name in 1901 -- today, only a small percentage of its street trees are native species to this region. Join author and illustrator of Street Trees of Seattle: An Illustrated Walking Guide on an autumn tree stroll to see the neighborhood's history through a different lens. We'll walk a little over 1 mile to visit some of the city's widest-diameter maple street trees, learning how to tell apart red maples, Japanese maples, bigleaf maples, silver maples and sugar maples and perhaps a plane and tulip tree thrown in for good measure.
