The Churches and Homes of Albina’s Volga Germans Tour
Portland has been shaped by the arrival of many immigrant groups. One of the lesser-known groups is the Volga Germans, who began to settle in the newly platted Albina Township in the early 1880s. Here, they cleared forested land and built wooden churches and homes in a variety of architectural styles
