THE HOUSE

One of Georgia’s most distinguished structures, the Johnston-Felton-Hay House in Macon was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1974. The house itself contains more than 18,000 square feet in 24 principal rooms.

VISIT US

We invite you to experience the beauty of Hay House on a tour! Guided tours begin at 10:00 a.m. and the last tour starts at 3:00 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays. We will not offer a noon tour on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Reservations are recommended.

MUSEUM TICKETS

The regular guided tour is about one-hour in length and interprets the first three levels of the house. The objective of each tour is to inform the visitor of the architectural and social histories of the building and its importance as a National Historic Landmark. Each year, approximately 15,000-20,000 visitors enjoy the house’s museum collection, stained-glass windows, and faux finishes.

There are many stairs in the house. The building is wheelchair accessible through the Gift Shop Entrance at the rear of the building, however the upper floors are only accessible by stairs.

HOURS:

We also offer Behind the Scenes Tours twice a month on the second and fourth Saturday at 10:15 a.m. except for July and August as those tours have been cancelled.

Legends and Lore Tours are scheduled just a few times per year. Click HERE to buy tickets.

Closed: Mondays, Tuesdays, New Year’s Day,  MLK Day, Easter, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Top of the House Tour: $10.00 per person. *Top of the House tours are seasonal and will not be offered in the summer months when temperatures in the Cupola exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
