Reminder: Volunteers Needed at Preservation Greensboro
It’s that time of year again! Preservation Greensboro is gearing up for our favorite tradition: The 16th Annual Tour of Historic Homes & Gardens. This year in Starmount Forest!
This event is more than just a peek behind the curtain of Starmount’s historic properties—it is our most vital fundraiser of the year. The proceeds from this tour directly fund our mission to protect and preserve the architectural history that makes Greensboro unique.
To make this event a success, we desperately need your help. We cannot host an event of this scale without our community stepping up to volunteer their time.
While we value the deep expertise our returning veterans bring, you’ll notice a few exciting updates to our workflow this year designed to make your experience even smoother. Changes include picking up your ticket before the event, we have two shifts a day, more technology, busses, boyscouts and more!
Event Details
- Dates: May 16th – 17th
- Shifts: Saturday-10:30-2pm or 1:30-5pm. Sunday-12:30-3pm or 2:30-5pm.
- Info Session: NEW! This year we will offer sessions where you can drop in prior to the event, grab your ticket, get your house address and ask questions!
- The Perk: As a thank you, all volunteers receive a complimentary pass to view the rest of the tour!
Commitment we need from you:
- A 3.5 hours shift day of event
- 10 minutes for an info session leading up to the Tour.
Whether you are a local history buff or just someone who loves a beautiful garden, your presence makes a massive difference.
