HDC’s Six to Celebrate 2026 Partner, The Coney Island Museum, is currently raising funds to support this year’s Coney Island Mermaid Parade. This year’s parade is scheduled for June 20th.

Founded in 1983, the Mermaid Parade pays homage to Coney Island’s historic Mardi Gras parades through pageantry, community and ingenuity. It opens every summer as a celebration of NYC’s entrepreneurial and artistic spirit. It also ensures a successful summer season by drawing hundreds of thousands of people to the amusement area, providing an economic boost to local businesses.
