ABOUT US

Tom Guelcher founded his company The Turning Point Woodworks Inc. in 1986, one year after returning from Europe where Tom apprenticed as a wood turner.  While trying to focus predominantly on woodturning orders, Tom found that by expanding into full house restoration, he was better able to land wood turning jobs as well as learn and create other aspects of the home restoration business. Tom soon realized that his niche was restoring the vintage home, architectural replication of parts for these homes, and coming from an artist background, he added house painting with the emphasis on elegant stately color schemes.

Tom is skilled with those jobs that present a challenge. Not only has he turned everything from giant 12 ft columns, to small chess pieces and thousands of items in between, but he has completed many repairs & replications of vintage house and building parts, as well as paint jobs and full house restorations.
