PBS's "History Detectives" looking for stories

PBS's "History Detectives" looking for stories
History Detectives is a PBS series about the discovery, documentation and preservation of historic American artifacts. We are seeking story submissions for our sixth season from collectors, auctioneers, historical organizations and museums across America.

Please tell us about an item that you think may have played a starring role, or was just along for the ride, in yesterday’s newsworthy people, places or events:  blackouts or boycotts, inaugurations or integration, rockabilly or rap, Hollywood or the Hindenburg, and so on!

Past objects that our viewers have contributed include Goering’s Gun, a Koranic schoolbook, an Anti-Slavery Flag, Jean Lafitte's Spyglass and a Superman sketch.

Please email us a description of your object (digital photos are always helpful!) and include the key facts you already know, and what you hope to learn from our investigation. The information you provide will be used for production research purposes only. We will contact you if we are interested in learning more about your story.

Please submit questions or story ideas to me at: carolyn.weiss@liontv.us. You can learn more about the show by visiting our website:

http://www.pbs.org/opb/historydetectives/

Looking forward to hearing from you!
