Spokane Preservation Advocates (SPA) presents its first annual Spokane Matters List highlighting historical buildings, structures, sites, or objects that members of our community think play important roles in the heritage of Spokane and Spokane County. Through this initiative we aim to share the stories of historic places that matter to those in our community, motivate community members to think and talk about the places that matter, and share stories of our area’s heritage and preservation efforts.

In no particular order, the 2011 Spokane Matters List is as follows:
  • Campbell House
  • Historic Street Tree Canopy
  • Cheney Depot (Northern Railway)
  • Westminister Apartments
  • Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church
  • Riverside Avenue Historic District
  • Opportunity Township Hall
  • Ninth Avenue Historic District
  • Dodd House
  • Lewis and Clark High School
  • Jensen-Byrd Building
  • Old Parker Cabin
A pdf version of the Spokane Matters List containing comprehensive text and full color photos for each resource is available on the advocacy page of our website and is accessible via link from our Facebook page at:
