Please Help Save our Kirkbride, Time is Running Out!
From amazing beauty to total devastation is what we are very concerned about. The council memebers of Fergus Falls, MN see no potential in keeping this amazing piece of history alive. We need anyone and everyones help. They say they want our opinion they are there with open minds but when approached would rather look down and ignore our pleas. They have their minds made up they would rather see green space on top of the hill of a place called the RTC. Green space instead of and amazing adventure. Something that could put their town back on the map and they say this is what they have all wanted for so long.

We look at places such as Traverse City seen here, www.thevillagetc.com , a place of great magnitude like the Kirkbride we have. Or a place such as this www.buffaloridgeresort.com; yes these two are completely different in size but in potential and uniqueness the same. They are perfect examples of what things can be done, take a look at the Traverse City Kirkbride of almost the same size as the Fergus Falls Kirkbride and by a town of almost equal residents to Fergus Falls then take a look at a very small town of 227. YES 227 people that also had a dream of keeping preservation alive. They all succeeded and to this day still do. They have put a name on the map for themselves and draw in tourist to places people would not have usually gone.

Our time is running out, the wrecking ball could be seen as soon as the end of the summer. Is this what our forefathers would want. They built this town around this historical landmark and now they want to tear it down. History is the past it can not be brought back, we need to hold on to what history we have and preserve and cherish it. Without history we wouldnt have the future.
