Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 Minnesota Preservation Awards, a program run by the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota (PAM). The Awards recognize outstanding projects, groups and individuals that contribute to Minnesota’s preservation accomplishments. From movie theaters to lakeside cottages, office buildings to historic roadside structures, these awards showcase efforts both simple and grand to preserve Minnesota’s historic resources. We've worked to make the application process a little more simple and hope that you will find this to be the case.
Without the commitment of our members and other dedicated supporters it would be impossible to have built the program that we have. Over the past 28 years, more than 300 projects across the state have received recognition through the Minnesota Preservation Awards program. Please consider nominating a project, organization or individual for the 2013 Awards and if you can't think of a specific project please pass this email along to others that might. Awards are selected based on the creativity and quality of the project, the dedication of a group or individual, and most important, a positive preservation outcome. A complete list of Minnesota Preservation Award recipients from 1985 can be found on the PAM’s website. The Awards recognize significant achievement in historic preservation statewide and celebrate those who have chosen to sustainably reuse and reinvest in our existing built resources.
Nominations, due Monday July 15, 2013, can focus on preservation projects or worthy efforts of communities, groups and individuals, completed within the last three years.
Awards are given not on the basis of size of investment, but rather on the merit the project provides to its community. Honorees of the 29th annual awards program will receive special recognition at the Minnesota Preservation Awards Gala to be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 in Minneapolis at Christ Church Lutheran, a National Historic Landmark
