This Month's Featured Properties:

Clement-Stewart House
New Edinburg, Arkansas

The Clements-Stewart House was built in 1879 and was original known as The New Edinburg Hotel. At that time it had a ten foot wide, open breezeway that ran straight through the center of the building. Guest rooms opened into the breezeway on both sides and went to the back of the building. It was a popular design of that day because of the cool breezes it created. The design is commonly referred to as the "dog trot" style...

Old World Charm & Character
Louisville, Kentucky

This wonderful Victorian on a quiet side street in Old Louisville offers over 3400 Sq. Ft. of living space and was completely renovated in 2005 with new plumbing, wiring, roof, metal gutters, mechanicals, bathrooms and kitchen. This spacious home offers 5 generous bedrooms and 3 full baths along with a 1st floor 1/2 bath. Double door entry opens into a lovely foyer with fireplace and the very unique and ornate twisting staircase rising all the way to the 3rd floor. There is also an ornate rear staircase from the 2nd floor down into the kitchen. Beautiful hardwood flooring, working pocket doors, vintage lighting fixtures, ornate millwork and fireplace mantels keep the property historically correct…

Historic Governor Jaques Dupre Plantation House
Jarreau, Louisiana

Rare, exceptional Creole plantation built c. 1790-1820. Original cypress and stone floors, six wood-burning fireplaces. Sits on 34.8 bucolic acres with pond, guest house, 18th-century Creole barn. Sherman Missed This One!
Orangeburg, South Carolina

This stately antebellum, circa 1830, is located in a beautiful setting of oak trees on 5 acres near Orangeburg, South Carolina. The house has much history since it survived the Civil War. Stories of Confederate soldiers camping on the property and occasionally returning make this property most interesting...

Boyds, Maryland

Located in the small town of Boyds, MD in upper Montgomery County, this property listing truly comes but once in a lifetime, as it has been in my family’s heritage for 80 years. This home, despite signs of aging and the endurance of many years of weather, is rich in history and legacy. Colonel Totten (of Civil War fame) married a niece of Elias Howe, inventor of the sewing machine. On their venture over the westbound B&O Railway, they chose a lovely setting for their home and named it “Winderbourne” after the sewing machine assembly likewise named “Winder” after the bobbin assembly. My family purchased this property (48 acres at the time) and after some 80 years I remain the last surviving family member and must settle the estate…
