RFP for Port Townsend Historic School Building, City of Port Townsend (Port Townsend, WA)
Historic Preservation Blog from PreservationDirectory.com - historic school rehab opportunity
Contributed By: John McDonagh
Website: http://www.ptschools.org/Page/1

The Port Townsend School District has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of the District's historic Lincoln School Building.  Located on the high school's hilltop campus in Port Townsend, WA (pop. 9,500), the District looks to enter into a long-term lease with a qualified respondent that would ensure retention and continued use of the building.

Potential uses for Lincoln Building may include:

1. Educational and institutional uses.
2. Art-related uses such as studios and exhibit spaces.
3. Museum space or other types of exhibition space, such as film, music, or performance art and/or cultural uses.
4. Office, biotech, information technology, and research and development uses that support adaptive reuse.
5. Live-work spaces in support of the above uses.

The complete RFP, with contact information and timelines, are available on the District's web site at www.ptschools.org.
