Interested in examples of education through music supporting landmark preservation efforts?
Scroll down in the Civic Initiatives section to find the 'Preservation Trilogy'.
Working with LandmarkWest in NYC, VolunteerMusic created several 'fight songs' to support landmark designation and preservation education.
'Automat-ic Pie', for example, was performed before the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission to help secure landmark status for one of the few remaining Automat buildings.
Another song, 'You Will Find A Story There', was produced to support LandmarkWest's educational outreach program. In the Civic Initiatives section, you will find the lyrics and the MP3's used to present this song in schools. (The video/audio section of this site has a live performance video of this item.)
VolunteerMusic offers free concerts for communities of need and worthy civic initiatives. LANDMARK WEST! is a non-profit award-winning community group working to preserve the best of the Upper West Side's architectural heritage.
