NEW FUNDING FOR YOUNG CANADA WORKS

Get funds to hire a recent graduate!

Here’s some great news! The National Trust for Canada is pleased to announce that the Government of Canada will provide an additional $100,000 in new funding for employers to hire recent graduates for internships of up to six months. Through the Young Canada Works (YCW) program, eligible employers can receive funds to support internships beginning after October 1, 2016. The deadline for applications is Friday, July 22, 2016.

Who is Eligible?

An employer may be eligible for funding if it is:
  • a private, public or non-profit organization with opportunities to build advanced skills through internships;
  • incorporated;
  • conducting activities in both official languages; and
  • stable and financially healthy.
An employer is not eligible if it is:
  • a federal department, federal agency or Crown Corporation; or
  • a provincial or territorial government department.
The National Trust encourages applications to create positions in heritage planning, heritage site interpretation, Doors Open events, Main Street© programs, heritage outreach, tourism, education and more.

Please note that Young Canada Works does not hire graduates directly. It is the employer's responsibility to hire recent graduates for their YCW funded position(s).

What is Young Canada Works?

The YCW program provides funds for employers to hire thousands of students and recent graduates for a diverse range of jobs in heritage.

How to Apply

Click here to apply to YCW. Applications are due Friday, July 22, 2016.

Funding for YCW is provided through the Heritage Programs Directorate of the Department of Canadian Heritage.

Do you want to hire a graduate? The call for applications is available here. For more information contact Kevin Parker, Young Canada Works Coordinator, or visit the Young Canada Work website.
