Announcing the 2019 Ecclesiastical Insurance Cornerstone Award Recipients

The National Trust's Ecclesiastical Insurance Cornerstone Awards celebrate exemplary projects, places and people that contribute to the quality of life and sense of place, and illustrate the viability of heritage buildings and sites for traditional or new uses. 

We're pleased to recognize nine recipients selected under the Transformative Projects category:
  • Auberge Chesley's Inn (Cornwall, Ontario)
  • Cheltenham Badlands Visitor Infrastructure Project (Caledon, Ontario)
  • Cambridge Old Post Office and Idea Exchange (Cambridge, ON)
  • Chapleau Hub (Chapleau, Ontario)
  • Kingsbridge Centre Renovation (Kingsbridge, Ontario)
  • Galpern (Porter) Building (Winnipeg, Manitoba)
  • Sambro Island Lighthouse (Halifax, Nova Scotia)
  • St. Michael's Cathedral Conservation (Toronto, Ontario)
  • The Academy (Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia)
Congratulations to the two recipients selected under the Resilient Placescategory:
  • Five Almonte Buildings (Mississippi Mills, Ontario)
  • Sharon Temple National Historic Site and Museum (East Gwillimbury, Ontario)
The 2019 National Heritage Awards will be presented on October 18, 2019 at the Millennium Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba during a ceremony held as part of the National Trust’s Annual Conference (in association with the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals). Stay tuned for the announcement of the National Trust Governors' Awards and the Prince of Wales Prize, which will also be presented in Winnipeg.
