Announcing Restore Oregon’s Rural Resources Hub
Historic Preservation Blog from PreservationDirectory.com -
Contributed By: Restore Oregon
Website: https://restoreoregon.org/rural-oregon-preservation-reuse/?blm_aid=37669

Over the past year, with generous support from The Roundhouse Foundation, Restore Oregon has committed to listening to and learning from rural Oregonians. With over 67% of our Most Endangered Places, DeMuro Awards, and technical inquiries coming from Oregon's rural communities, the need for a quick and accessible go-to resource hub for these unique needs was evident. As a result of this important work and the dedication of our Preservation Programs Intern, Nora Harris, we are excited to announce the launch of our new Resources for Rural Oregon webpage to better respond to the challenges, needs, and concerns of rural Oregonians statewide!

This dedicated rural resources hub provides quick links to frequently asked questions, guides to help begin preservation or adaptive reuse projects, suggestions for addressing housing needs and planning for and recovering from natural disasters, advice for saving heritage barns, and links to access programs, grants, and initiatives that support rural housing, utilities, businesses, and more.

We are committed to providing ongoing support to all our neighbors, and we invite you to explore our new Resources for Rural Oregon webpage and reach out for support from Restore Oregon staff for your technical preservation and reuse services, preservation planning and funding, or rural advocacy efforts. We will continue to update this page with new and expanded information, so please check back often for updates! And if you live or work in rural Oregon and have ideas for ways we could expand these offerings, please let us know and help us help Oregon's rural communities.
