Important element of Butte, Montana's historic district threatened
Historic Preservation Blog from PreservationDirectory.com - Butte, Montana, demolition, historic landmark, endangered history
Contributed By: Richard Gibson
Website: http://www.buttecpr.org

A 1917 commercial building in the heart of the largest National Historic Landmark District (by contributing property count) in the nation, Butte, Montana, is in danger of demolition. On the corner of Park and Wyoming streets - an important anchor in a largely intact streetscape, the brick structure is owned by the county which has no resources for stabilizing and saving this landmark. A caring investor - or even useful advice on how to save the building - is sought, and soon. More information and photos can be seen at http://www.buttecpr.org/threat.shtml.

Keywords: Butte, Montana, demolition, historic landmark, endangered history
