Tucked away on the banks of the Combahee River near the South Carolina coast, this multi-building estate was nearly destroyed by neglect. Award-winning movie producer Joel Silver meticulously restored its buildings and grounds, setting a gold standard for historic preservation. Designed in 1939 and rarely open to the public, the Conservancy is honored to be one of few organizations granted access.
