Spokane Preservation Advocates Hosts Autumn Historic Home Tour—Open to the Public

November 2, 2025 |
Spokane,WA—Spokane Preservation Advocates (SPA) invites the public to experience Spokane’s architectural history firsthand at the 2025 Autumn Historic Home Tour, on Sunday, November 2, from 10am to 3pm in the Cliff Cannon neighborhood.
This year’s tour highlights four residences that showcase the range and character of Spokane’s built heritage:
- TheKarl Malmgren House, designed in 1910 by architect Karl Malmgren of the famed Cutter and Malmgren partnership, serving as his private residence and a masterful example of Craftsman Style design.
- The Richard & Jessie Nuzum House, a distinguished 1912 Tudor Revival home by Cutter & Malmgren, listed on the Spokane Register since 2019.
- The William & Anne Murgittroyd House, newly added to the Spokane Register of Historic Places this summer—so fresh it hasn’t yet appeared on the city’s website.
- A midcentury gem at 1212 S Wall Street, not yet on the Register but looking destined to join Spokane’s list of architectural treasures.
“How often do you get to wander through a house designed by the same folks who gave us the Davenport Hotel—or peek inside a midcentury gem that looks destined for the Historic Register?” said Dawn Wynne, Vice President of Spokane Preservation Advocates. “And while there will be plenty of pretty architecture to admire, the real heart of this tour is the chance to learn about the people and neighborhoods that shaped Spokane.”
Tickets are $30 per person and available now at https://spokanepreservation.org/events/event/2015/.
The Autumn Historic HomeTour is open to all members of the public, not just SPA members, and proceeds directly support preservation projects throughout Spokane.
