us for the annual Rosemary P. Miller Lecture Series hosting Randy Shipp,
"Press a Button, Get a House." This event is free to the public and
will be hosted at the Ivy Tech Waldron Arts Center (122 S Walnut Street) in the
Whikehart Auditorium from 7 - 8 PM.
Randy Shipp is a Historic Preservation Specialist in the Historic Preservation
Office, Lexington, Kentucky. He has served in this capacity for over nineteen
years. As part of this staff, he conducts historic research, documents
buildings and structures, prepares National Register of Historic Places
nominations and serves as a staff member for the local Board of Architectural
Review. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in
Historic Preservation, he has worked in the preservation/architecture field for
nearly forty years. He previously served as a regional preservation planner in
Southeast Georgia, Main Street Manager for the City of Frankfort, Kentucky, and
an architectural draftsman for Coblin, Porter & Associates of Frankfort,
Kentucky . As a personal field of interest, he has been researching Gunnison
Homes, Inc., for since 2002. He has presented on this subject at Kentucky
state-wide conferences, National Trust for Historic Preservation conference and
the University of Kentucky School of Design.
