Massachusetts Historic Preservation Conference
September 20, 2019 |
Education is a cornerstone of Preservation Massachusetts' mission. By offering opportunities and venues for the preservation community to come together, learn, share, mentor and network, we strengthen ourselves, our initiatives and our collective movement. Since 2015, the Massachusetts Historic Preservation Conference has been an important biennial program of our organization in partnership with organizations and agencies around the Commonwealth.
As "America's Hometown", Plymouth is known far and wide for the 1620 landing, but it is so much more. From a bustling waterfront and historic main street, to industry and innovation, the largest town in the Commonwealth has certainly evolved over the past four centuries. Plymouth will be the stage for us to explore our theme of "Untold Stories in Preservation" and look at ways preservation can be a representative force for the people, stories and legacies that make the places we call home unique and important.
We are delighted to bring the conference here and know that local preservationists are excited to show off their city, especially on the conference tours! This is a timely opportunity to see Plymouth on the cusp of a major commemoration and see how one of our nation's oldest communities is embracing preservation and planning for the future.
This year's conference hosts variety of sessions, from basic training, to advocacy best practices, to more advanced topics like preservation project finance and climate change. Preservation Massachusetts is pleased to offer this event to you as a member of our statewide preservation community. We look forward to learning with you in Plymouth!
Registration will open in July. Please contact Julie Roper, Conference Planner at jroper@preservationmass.org with any questions.
