Basher | Foster House Tour

October 12, 2019

Join Docomomo US/WEWA for Tour Day 2019 at the Basher | Foster residence in Lake Forest Park.

Tour Day is Docomomo US's annual national event that raises awareness of and appreciation for Modern design in the mid-20th century. All across the country, our friends and colleagues are producing great regional events in October!

The Basher | Foster property is an excellent example of a remarkably intact mid-century modern house located in a unique suburb planned around a woodland setting. Aptly named "The Glass House" by the original owners, Philip and Ingletta Basher, the home was designed by Glenn Mattson of the firm, Warren & Mattson, and completed in 1960. The house has been well-maintained and respectfully updated; its exterior and interior retains much of its original configuration and materials.

We thank the current owners, Jeff and Anne Foster, for opening up their home.

We invite you to view this fantastic residence with us, meet the current owners, and engage with Docomomo US/WEWA Board members and docents to learn more about the organization's recent efforts in preservation advocacy and upcoming programs.

WHEN:  Saturday, October 12, 2019
11:00 am - 2:00 pm (open house format; come any time between these hours)

WHERE:  18523 53rd Ave NE, Lake Forest Park, WA  98155
There is very limited on-street parking available. No parking is available in front of the home. Suggested parking is along 53rd Ave NE north of the home or NE 187th St east of the home. Please do not block driveways.

COST:   $10 cash, check, or charge (pay at the door); event fees help fund future programs

Interior photographs are allowed. If there is rain during the event, you may be asked to remove shoes or wear shoe covers (provided).

Docomomo US/WEWA's programs are partially supported through a 4Culture Preservation Sustained Support Grant.
