25th Annual Grand Kids Festival at The Grand 1894 Opera House

GALVESTON ISLAND, TEXAS (29 January 2021) – The Grand 1894 Opera House will present the 25th annual Grand Kids Festival on Saturday, May 1. Postponed last year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this year’s festival format, exact street locations, and festival hours are still in the planning stages contingent on complying with City, County and CDC guidelines. Additional details to be announced as soon as available.
The Grand Kids Festival has become a favorite springtime activity for families and visitors from throughout the Houston/Galveston area and Gulf Coast region to enjoy a delightful, fun-filled day in Galveston’s historic downtown Cultural Arts District – celebrating children, families and folk art. Created as an extension to The Grand’s Serious Fun Children’s programming and designed to raise an appreciation and awareness of the importance of fine arts for children, the Festival is a community outreach event presented by The Grand 1894 Opera House, made possible only through the generosity of many organizations, foundations, businesses and individuals. Founding sponsors of the Festival include Mary Ainslie, The Gladys B. Foundation in honor of Robert Richard Thornton, The Harris and Eliza Kempner Fund, Bank of America and The Park Board of Trustees of the City of Galveston.
