35th Annual Experts at the Cathedral Historic Preservation Lecture Series Explores Residences of Queen Lili‘uokalani

Dates: Every Thursday, from February 3 - March 10, 2022
Time: 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

In recognition of 2022 marking the 175th anniversary of Washington Place, this year’s Experts at the Cathedral Historic Preservation Lecture Series will focus on the residences of Queen Lili‘uokalani.

The Queen's places of residence included (shown above clockwise from the upper lef) Haleakala, Washington Place, ‘Iolani Palace and Paoakalani. Queen Lili‘uokalani is pictured in the upper right image, seated in front of Washington Place. Lecturers include: Rianna M. Williams, author of “Queen Lili‘uokalani, the Dominis family, and Washington Place, Their Home”; Zita Cup Choy, Iolani Palace Historian; Paul Brennen, president of Kailua Historical Society; and Don Hibbard, architectural historian and author of “The View from Diamond Head: Royal Residence to Urban Resort”.

The lectures will be streamed online via Zoom on Thursdays at noon from February 3rd through March 10th.  (In order to protect the safety and health of the community, HHF will not be hosting in-person events until further notice.)
