1776 the Musical at Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest

June 27-29, 2024

An entertaining Independence Day tradition at Poplar Forest, the musical 1776 returns to Jefferson’s south lawn for three nights only. Celebrate the courage of the American revolutionaries and Founding Fathers at a performance of the Tony Award-winning musical comedy by Sherman Edwards and Peter Stone that brings the events leading up to the drafting and signing of the Declaration of Independence to life. And get to know the men responsible for the text: Ben (Franklin), Richard Henry (Lee), John (Adams) and Tom (Jefferson). Bring your friends and family, and a picnic dinner, sample a selection of local libations and enjoy an evening of theatre under the stars. Tickets are $17.76 for adults (18+), $13 for college students (with ID) and youth (6-17), and $4 for children under 6.

Thursday June 27; Friday, June 28; and Saturday, June 29 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. each evening (Rain Date June 30)
