Preservation Action to Host Historic Preservation Month Congressional Briefing
May 14, 2024 |
As we celebrate National Historic Preservation Month in May, Preservation Action, in partnership with the Historic Preservation Congressional Caucus, is planning our Preservation Month Congressional Briefing on May 14th at 12pm. Preservation Action has hosted the annual briefing for the last several years with the goal of educating congressional staff on federal preservation programs and policies and key legislative issues impacting historic preservation.
This year, Preservation Action will be joined by a panel of leading national historic preservation policy experts and include discussion on improving and enhancing the Historic Tax Credit through the Historic Tax Credit Growth and Opportunity Act (H.R. 1785, S. 639), ongoing efforts to reauthorize the Historic Preservation Fund with the Historic Preservation Fund Reauthorization Act (H.R. 3350), which is set to expire in September, highlight the economic benefits of preservation, and more.
Help us spread the word! If you have a personal contact in your Representative or Senators' office, contact that person directly, share our briefing flyer, and ask them to attend the Preservation Month Congressional Briefing on May 14th.
