Full Appropriations Committee Approves Historic Preservation

Full Appropriations Committee Approves Historic Preservation

The full House Appropriations Committee convened on June 6th and marked up the FY’08 Interior Appropriations Bill. The full Committee approved the subcommittee’s mark of last week, which included major increases for the States, Tribes, SAT and Preserve America. The increases over FY'07 funding levels included:

  • + $8.8 million for State Preservation Offices ($44.807 million),
  • + 2.519 million for Tribal Preservation Offices ($6.5 million),
  • + $11.9 million for Save America's Treasures ($19.59 million),
  • + $7.0 million for heritage partnerships ($20 million), and
  • + $5.0 million for Preserve America ($10 million).
