Entry-Level Window Restoration Technician, Bagala Window Works (Westbrook, ME)

Bagala Window Works helps clients restore the beauty and integrity of their historic windows and doors while increasing energy efficiency. We practice traditional techniques along with proven new methods to enhance the value and durability of our restorations. Our staff are skilled men and women who value a healthy and respectful work environment, with a passion for quality and craftsmanship. We are now searching for an Entry-Level Window Technician to join the team.

Entry-level Window Technicians perform many window restoration tasks, ultimately working up to mastering all skill. These skills include: safely strip lead paint, sand sash, and priming and painting sash. Other responsibilities may include: using power tools, perform stabilization and repair work, glaze sash, apply weatherstrip, and remove and install sash at residential/commercial site locations.

Requirements:

· Possess ability to troubleshoot: assess problems and present solutions.

· Possess ability to complete client projects on time, based on time estimate given.

· Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs. for 50 feet.

· Ability to climb ladders up to 30 feet and work on staging.

· Ability to work with power tools, hand-tools, lumber, and materials.

· Possess a valid driver’s license.

· Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

· Ability to follow health & safety requirements on and off-site, including lead-safe and hygiene practices; power equipment clearance and use.

· Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized shop.

· Demonstrate appreciation for quality, accuracy, and integrity.

· Experience with art making or handling, historic preservation or conservation is a plus, but not required

· Being a team player is a must!

We are offering permanent part-time and full-time positions. Starting pay is $13-$15/hour depending on experience. Applicants with an interest in historic building renovation/preservation are encouraged apply.
