Philanthropy & Communications Manager Job Opening, Historic Seattle (Seattle, WA)

Position Summary:The Philanthropy & Communications Manager oversees select fundraising and communications activities within Historic Seattle. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy & Engagement, the Manager will also support other engagement team efforts. The Manager will proactively work to build initiatives and will execute projects that elevate Historic Seattle’s connection with its supporters and its presence in the local area.

Compensation: A comprehensive salary and benefits package is offered, including 12 days of vacation in the first year, 10 days of sick time, 12 holidays (two floating), health & dental insurance, retirement plan, and more. Historic Seattle offers a positive and flexible working environment. Candidate must be able to work outside of normal business hours. This position is full time, 40 hours per week, exempt.
Salary range: $55-$65K, depending on experience

Qualifications:
- 3-7 years fundraising, communications, or marketing experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience
- Desire to build philanthropic program and interact with donors
- Exceptional writing and organizational skills
- Interest in historic preservation
- Experience with eTapestry, other fundraising softwares, or design softwares a plus
- Grantwriting experience

Job Description: Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Fundraising – 60%
- Plan, execute, and manage all annual giving elements of the organization’s comprehensive fundraising plan, including but not limited to direct mail/email campaigns (approx. 6 annually), monthly giving program (Sustained Supporters), and corporate sponsorship program
- Steward, cultivate, and solicit supporters as appropriate; build relationships with Historic Seattle supporters that inspire passion for preservation and identification with our cause
- Conduct prospect research on a monthly basis & develop donor acquisition and upgrade strategies
- Manage grant program, including researching opportunities, drafting & submitting proposals, and reporting/stewardship

Communications – 30%
- Create, edit, and oversee design, approval, and distribution of all organization publications, including but not limited to the annual report, newsletters (2-3 annually), and monthly eNews
- Manage and regularly update Historic Seattle’s digital communication platforms, including website, social media, and blog

Miscellaneous/other – 10%
- At the direction of the Director of Philanthropy & Engagement, provide support prior for and at all donor events, including planning, day-of assistance, attendee research, and coordination of staff and materials
- Assist Director of Philanthropy & Engagement with additional needs as requested
