RFP: Preservation Consultant, RI Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission
Historic Preservation Blog from PreservationDirectory.com - RFP, National Register, Rhode Island, African American, history, civil rights
Contributed By: Sarah Zurier
Website: https://preservation.ri.gov/

The Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission (RIHPHC) has issued a revised Request for Proposals for our African American Civil Rights in Rhode Island project, which has reduced the scope of work in the original RFP.

The revised RFP seeks a preservation consultant to complete a statewide survey of sites associated with the pre-1900 struggle for African American civil rights in Rhode Island and to prepare a National Register of Historic Places Registration Form for one related property. This project will build off and expand upon a statewide survey of 20th-century African American civil rights sites, completed in 2019. This project is sponsored and will be administered by the RIHPHC, with funds made available by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS), under a Historic Preservation Fund grant.

A maximum of $48,000 in federal grant funds is available for the project. No additional funding is available.

Proposals are due on November 18, 2022.

Questions about the RFP should be emailed to joanna.doherty@preservation.ri.gov
